Stranger: it doesnät matter :-D
You: You're first finnish I've met today :D

Stranger: well, I have bumped on many
Stranger: keep trying
You: Looks like I'm about to meet lots of finnish people here
You: :D
Stranger: God knows if they behave X-)
You: Can you teach me some finnish? :D
Stranger: well...
You: I've always wanted to know some words in finnish :D
You: I love it :D
Stranger: what would you like to know
Stranger: puck is kiekko and stick is maila
You: well.. like how do you say Good day?
Stranger: and net is maali
You: :D
Stranger: and... X-)
Stranger: so, Good day
You: :D:D
Stranger: um...
Stranger: I think it depends to whom to say it
You: Oh
Stranger: just a casual good day?
You: yeah :D
You: anything works :D
Stranger: with friends and such, a very neytral and usual way to greet is "terve" or "moi"
You: Sounds funny xD
You: Terve!
You: :D
Stranger: more formal Good Day, literally, is "hyvää päivää" (meaning "good Day")
Stranger: Terve itsellesi
You: :D
You: and that means?
Stranger: "Terve to you too"
You: oooh :D
You: Finnish sounds so exciting
Stranger: hah
You: Maybe someday I'll study it and pay a visit to Finland :D
Stranger: just today I happened to read Finland Forum
Stranger: place where foreigners ask questions about Finland and such, espacially language
You: :o
Stranger: I had no idea Finnish is SO tricky!
You: :D
Stranger: at least when someone is reading official news
Stranger: even I had a hard time to understand what the heck there was written
You: :D:D
Stranger: that kind of jargon :-P
You: So those ppl wrote so bad finnish that even you didn't understand it? :D
Stranger: google Finland Forum, forgot the address, all kind of interesting things there
Stranger: well
Stranger: you know how officials and politicians speak
You: Sure, thanks 8)
Stranger: it is not any language!
You: :D
Stranger: anyway
You: Hmm, can you teach me some "rude" words that I can tease my friends with? :D
Stranger: where in Canada might you be located
Stranger: sure ;-)
You: I live near Toronto :D
Stranger: alright
You: About 5 miles away
Stranger: Toronto is big
You: yeah, it is :D
You: Or should I say HUGE!
You: :D
Stranger: this is a town in So. Finland
Stranger: 100000 people here
Stranger: what about rude words
You: Just some rude words that I can say to my friends and they never guess what I really say to them x)
You: It's funny to tease friends with different languages :D
Stranger: right X-)
You: One word I already know
You: perse
You: xD
Stranger: hih
You: and if I remember right, it means ass?
Stranger: indeed
You: :D
Stranger: it's really a bit rude, more like arse or something like that
You: Oh :o
You: Even more c00l xD
Stranger: perse-arse... it is almost similar even
You: :D:D
You: It sure is! :D
You: That way I remember it easier :)
You: Thanks!
Stranger: what about pisshead
Stranger: that one no one would ever guess, unless someone Finnish hears it
You: :O
You: Sounds really fun!
Stranger: it's kusipää
You: kusipää
You: :D
You: kinda hard to write on my keyboard :D
Stranger: hard to tell you how to say it correctly but...
You: I understand 8)
You: Thanks again! :D
Stranger: maybe it works as written too
Stranger: of course Finns have that very common cuss word perkele
You: perkele
You: :D
You: And what does that mean?
You: :P
Stranger: (not allowed to be used by people under 15 or so)
Stranger: it means simply a devil
You: Devil = Perkele
You: :D
Stranger: there are plenty of milder words for younger people
You: :D
You: But you only tell me the most rude words? x)
Stranger: of course, you are a Canadian!
Stranger: you can stand them
You: :D
Stranger: about the people south from you I am not so sure
You: You mean the ppl from USA? :D
Stranger: USA... What is USA...
You: United States of America
Stranger: United Silliness of Analphabetics?
You: :D:D:D
You: That might be better xDD
Stranger: Under Serious Asperger?
You: :D
Stranger: Ultimate Screwers of All?
You: You're making me laugh so loud! XDD
Stranger: no one can call me anti-American, why, I have nothing against Canada
You: 8)
Stranger: oh well
You: What time is it there? :D
Stranger: very early in the morning
Stranger: 3:35 AM
Stranger: why am I still awake?
You: :D:D:D

Stranger: oh, sun is rising
You: :D:D:D
Stranger: (if it went down at all)
Stranger: it has been a bit cold :-/
Stranger: 12-15 or so
You: I've heard that sun doesn't go down in mid-summer there in Finland?
Stranger: in May it was almost 25, not anymore
Stranger: summer ended before it started
You: That's not good 8(
Stranger: well, it's midsummer very soon
Stranger: this is not so far in north that sun wouldn't set, but it really just peeks under the horizon and comes back
Stranger: in North Finland it doesnät set
You: :O
You: I'm just wondering how they could sleep if the sun is shining 24/7 :D:D
Stranger: thick curtains
You: :D
Stranger: I studied once there in North Finland in Rovaniemi
You: Oh :D
Stranger: in my room the first thing I noticed was the curtains
Stranger: "why are these so THICK?"
You: :DD
Stranger: next night I realised
You: xD
You: The sun was shining all night long? :D
Stranger: itäs not a problem, a real problem is how to wake up during winter
You: :O
Stranger: in summer there is dusk in night, when it's cloudy
Stranger: but it's just question of few weeks in summer
Stranger: it doesnt last long anyway
You: Oh, that's a relief :D
Stranger: it's abit over-advertised
Stranger: not so dramatic in reality
You: :S
You: Well, maybe some day I'll come there and see it with my own eyes :D
Stranger: well, right now, 3:45 I can read book without light
Stranger: that much is true
You: Woah
Stranger: but what do I know, I am used to it
You: :D
Stranger: more exotic to other people, for sure
You: For example, me xD
Stranger: for instance you :-)
You: Oh well, I guess that I should try and go to sleep now.. It's almost 10pm here and I've still got to go to scool 8(
