Sain tämän ystävältäni, joka sai valita kahden asian väliltä. Minä sain myös valita samoin. Olen valinnut. Nyt on sinun vuorosi valita.
Tämä kertomus kertoo eräästä äidistä, joka moitti 5 vuotiasta tytärtään siitä, että tämä tuhlasi kokonaisen rullan kaunista, kallisarvoista kullanväristä lahjapaperia. Rahaa oli vähän ja äiti tuli entistä kiukkuisemmaksi, kun hän näki tyttärensä koristelevan paperilla rasian, jonka hän laittoi joulukuusen alle.

Seuraavana aamuna tyttö antoi askin äidilleen sanoen "tämä on sinulle äiti". Äiti tunsi itsensä
vaivautuneensa muistaessaan eilisen kiukkunsa tytölle. Hänen ärsyyntyi kuitenkin uudestaan tyttärelleen avatessaan paketin ja huomatessaan sisällä olevan rasian tyhjäksi. Harmistuneena hän sanoi tyttärelleen; "Etkö tiedä, nuori nainen, että kun annetaan lahja jollekin, paketissa täytyy olla jotakin?" Tytölle tuli kyyneleet silmiin, kun hän vastasi; "Mutta äiti, ei rasia ole tyhjä! Minä täytin sen kokonaan suudelmilla!"

Äiti murtui myös kyyneliin, polvistui tyttärensä eteen ja sulki hänet syliinsä ja pyysi anteeksi ajattelematonta kiukkuaan. Lyhyen ajan kuluttua tyttö kuoli tapaturmaisesti. Tarina kertoo, että äiti piti tätä tyttäreltään samaa rasiaa yöpöydällään koko loppuelämänsä ajan. Kun hänellä oli vastoinkäymisiä tai kun hän tunsi itsensä masentuneeksi, avasi hän rasian ja otti sieltä kuvitellun suudelman ja muisti tyttärensä rakkauden, jolla hän oli paketoinut suudelmat rasiaan. Todellakin ihmeellinen tunne, on tämä lahja meille, pieni rasia täynnä pyyteetöntä rakkautta ja suudelmia lapsiltamme, perheeltämme, ystäviltämme. Ei ole mitään arvokkaampaa täällä maan päällä kuin tämä.

Laitoin tämän tänne ja pyydän eräitä ihmisiä kopioimaan tämän saman tarinan omaan päiväkirjaansa. Näillä henkilöillä on nyt kaksi vaihtoehtoa:
1. Kopioi tämä päiväkirjaasi
2. Ole niin kuin tämä ei koskettaisi sydäntäsi.

Kuten huomaat, minä valitsin ensimmäisen vaihtoehdon.
