En tosin opiskele sellaista, mitä ehkä pitäisi koulun osalta. Olen löytänyt erittäin älykkäitä ihmisiä Internetin ihmeellisestä maailmasta, jotka ovat teroittaneet omia mielipiteitäni entisestään.

Esimerkiksi herra nimeltä Sam Harris, kenet löysin muutama päivä sitten, on ollut erittäin miellyttävä tapaus. 100% hänen puheestaan menee TÄYSIN omien mielipiteitteni mukaan, olen aivan täysin samaa mieltä kaikessa hänen kanssaan, joka nykypäivänä on erittäin harvinaista. :)

Harris puhuu siis järkeilystä uskoa vastaan. Hänen mielestään uskonnot ja niiden ideologiat ovat yksi ihmiskuntaa pahiten uhkaavista asioista. Ihmiset kun vaan tekevät aivan järjettömiä asioita uskonnollisten ideologioiden pohjalta.

esim 1: Yhdysvalloissa ollaan kantasolututkimusta vastaan, koska heidän (Kristittyjä kun ovat) ideologian mukaan sikiö, oli se sitten miten vanha tahansa, omaa jo sielun.

esim 2: Nykypäivänä on täysin mahdollista, että joku henkilö osaa siis aivan käytännössä TEHDÄ ydinpommin JA uskoo, että jos hän kuolee marttyyrikuoleman tuhoamalla itsemurhaiskulla vääräuskoisia, hän pääsee taivaaseen ja saa 72 tummasilmäistä neitsyttä. :O

Lopetin juuri katsomasta juutuubista 12 osaisen, yhteensä 2 tuntia kestävän keskustelutuokion 4 nerokkaan henkilön välillä (Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Sam Harris ja Christopher Hitchens), ja nautin joka hetkestä. :D On upeaa tajuta, että on olemassa ihmisiä joiden kanssa minulla olisi käytännössä lähes mahdotonta löytää eriäviä mielipiteitä tämän asian tiimoilta. :P

Hiukan ennen tähän kyseiseen asiaan keskittymistäni katselin useita dokumentteja tieteestä. Etenkin kvantti- ja nanoteknologiasta, kantasolututkimuksesta, biotekniikasta ja tekoälystä. On aika uskomatonta mitä kaikkea tieteessä jo tehdään. Esimerkiksi teleportaatio ja näkymättömyys on jo pystytty tekemään käytännössä, ns. "proof of concept" on jo faktaa. Hiilinanoputket (carbon nano tube), suprajohteet, fuusioenergia... tuskin maltan odottaa, että tiede pääsee kunnolla näihin käsiksi käytännön tasolla.

Tiede vain on sitten ihmeellistä. Heitän tähän perään vielä muutaman quoten joiden kanssa olen samaa mieltä, että kaikki varmasti tajuavat. ;)

I smiled as the world seemed mine alone. Nothing was moving, not even the trees. The water in the river stood still, shiny like a mirror. Even the birds just sat there staring at me as I passed them. The only thing destroying the illusion was the occasional wave of a bush or a bird flying in the sky. It was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Nothing disturbed my privacy, I was in complete serenity.

So I started to think. Had I misplaced myself, my life and what I wanted? I had been alone for so long that I had forgotten how it feels. The happiness you feel for someone else, the joy of knowing you were remembered and the euphoria of being wanted. All I could remember was the feeling of indifference. Too many people have disappointed me; too many people have left me wondering: “Is this what the world has to offer?” Too many times have I given up hope for people to come to their senses and realize what they had. I feel like I’m looking for a needle in the wrong haystack.

I am frozen in time and I can’t figure out if I like it or not.

Maybe we like the pain. Maybe we're wired that way. Because without it, I don't know; maybe we just wouldn't feel real. What's that saying? Why do I keep hitting myself with a hammer? Because it feels so good when I stop.

Working the evening shift in a grocery store, can't think of anything more boring. Everything is already done. I'm basically looking for tipped over cans to pick back up, so it's no wonder my thoughts are all over the place.

They said I'm not what they're looking for, but can I trust them? People lie, especially the ones who want you to kill for them. You don't get turned down from a job as a hitman and live to tell about it, at least not without a really good reason ... was this a test?

It was time to make another patrol for tipped over cans, maybe one of them will be broken this time.
