My Siamese cat Mango has lately been extremely chatty. She seems to have long monologues about something, while staring at me intensively. I wonder what it is she´s trying to tell me… I wonder if it´s the new decorations in my house that se feels to be somewhat tacky, or if she´s just reporting the suspicious pigeon activity outside my house. Or maybe, just maybe she has deep thought about the world piece… maybe she found a way to end all wars and felt to need to share it with somebody, but felt utter despair when not being able to articulate it.

All in all I feel sorry for her and the language barrier between us. In no means do I want to ignore her thoughts so I keep replying to her every miau and mour with a soft hum “mmm… ok… lovely” “…now is that so” and portraying my interest in her thoughts by sometimes encouraging her with gentle “tell me more, Mango”.

I do wonder how I would react if someday I truly could understand what she says. Until that I will love her for the small little chats we have where we both pretend to have something meaningful to say.
